An atmospheric and highly-skilled thriller, Marshland is one of the most awarded films in Goya Award history, winning 10 statuettes at the annual Spanish Academy Award ceremony this year in 2015.
Uniquely set in 1980 amidst civil unrest in the wake of Franco’s death, two teenage sisters have mysteriously disappeared under suspicious and brutal circumstances. Two detectives are sent to the repressed southern marshland town of Guadalquivir to investigate. This movie is part of the Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival (ASFF).
