Sofía (Amparo Noguera, one of the most recognised actresses in Chile), a school teacher in the town of Ventanas, has been trying to adopt a child.
When she reads in a local newspaper that a baby has been found dead in the dump, she becomes obsessed with the fate of this creature, whom according to the law has no rights; the baby may neither be named nor buried. Sofía begins a legal battle to bury “Aurora”. It is a film based on the real life case of a Chilean woman who became unable to bear children because of the torture she suffered during the military dictatorship. This film is a great metaphor of our society, telling the remarkable and personal story of a woman, a story that touches and questions our deepest foundation as citizens and as a nation. This movie is part of the Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival (ASFF).
