What is a Pathé Thuis gift card?
Pathé Thuis gift card (Digital)
With a Pathé Thuis gift card you can watch the latest rental films at home. The digital card does not represent a monetary value, but a specified 'credit'. Meaning you can immediately watch 1, 2 or, for example, 4 rental films with it, for a maximum of €5.99 per film. Which means that after redeeming the gift card for cheaper films, the remaining value expires. The card states how many films you can watch and in what quality (SD or HD). The card is not valid for films to buy and our Premium films.
Pathé Thuis gift card (Physical)
The physical gift card does not represent a monetary value, but a specified 'credit'. Meaning you can immediately watch 1 or 2 rental films with it, in HD quality, for a maximum of €5.99 per film. This means that after watching cheaper films, the remaining value expires. The card states how many films you can watch in HD quality. The card is not valid for films to buy and our Premium films.
How does Pathé Thuis Kado work?
To redeem the card (Physical and Digital) to rent a film, follow the steps below:
- Go to the Pathé Thuis gift page and click 'Redeem code'
- Log in or create a free account
- Carefully scratch off the protective layer (if it is a physical card)
- Enter the PIN code (the code often starts with 528...)
- It will now be indicated for which collection the code is valid. Click 'View collection'
- Choose your film now or search for it via the search bar
- Found a film? Click 'Watch from €0,-'
- Choose SD or HD (if you have that option)
- Click 'Rent for €0,-'
You now have the option to watch the film right away via 'Watch now'. Do you want to save the film for later? Then choose 'Watch later'. The film will be in your account for 30 days. After starting, you have 48 hours to watch the film.

If you entered a voucher a while ago and now want to watch a film, you must re-enter the code on our gift page. A voucher is not saved to your account. Therefore, check carefully that the discounted price is visible before you pay for a film.

How long is Pathé Thuis Kado valid?
The Pathé Thuis Kado card issued from 1 January 2022 is valid for two years after the date of issue and can be redeemed at any time within this period.
Cards issued before January 1, 2022 were valid for one year.
My Pathé Thuis gift card does not work. What should I do?
The code may not have been activated. When purchasing, the code must be scanned by the selling party, which will activate the code. Contact the seller to check if the code was activated.
If you entered a gift card a while ago and now want to watch a film, you must re-enter the code on our gift page. A voucher is not saved in your account. Therefore, check carefully that the discounted price is visible before you pay for a film.
Finally, you may have a KPN or Ziggo voucher, which cannot be used in the Pathé Thuis app. A Pathé Thuis voucher code has 9 characters, a KPN or Ziggo code had only 8 characters.
Do you have a discount voucher but has the full amount been debited? Please contact us via our contact page. To be able to serve you faster, it is helpful if you send a photo of your gift card in your first message.
What is a Pathé Giftcard?
You can buy the Pathé Giftcard at the cinema or online. You can use this Giftcard to buy tickets, food and drinks in a Pathé Cinema and for credit on Pathé Thuis.
You can order the Pathé Giftcard on our website and you determine the amount yourself. With the Pathé Giftcard you put a credit on your Pathé Thuis account and for that amount you can rent and buy films.
How does a Pathé Giftcard work at Pathé Thuis?
- Go to the Pathé Thuis gift page and click 'Redeem code'
- Log in or create a free account
- Enter the long series of numbers. This often starts with 6064... and click 'Redeem code'
- Now enter the PIN code (which can be found underneath the protective scratch layer, remove it carefully) and click 'Redeem code'
- Now choose the amount you want to put on your Pathé Thuis account. The possible amount starts from €5.00, click on the arrow next to the €5.00 to choose a different amount.
- Confirm the transaction
- After completing the steps, your Pathé Thuis credit is updated with the amount you have chosen and you can immediately rent and buy your favourite films.

How do I use a discount code?
With a discount code you can rent a film at a reduced rate. When receiving the code, it is indicated for which film(s) the code is valid, what the discount is and until when the code can be redeemed. It also states whether the code is valid for rental or purchase films.
After redeeming the discount code, you can pay the remaining amount via Pathé Thuis credit, via Paypal or via a direct payment with iDEAL or credit card.
- Go to the Pathé Thuis gift page and click 'Redeem code'
- Log in or create a free account
- Enter the code and click 'Redeem code'
- Now will be indicated for which collection or film the code is valid. Click 'View collection' or 'View film'
- Then click 'Watch from [amount]'
- Choose SD or HD (if you have that option)
- Click 'Rent SD/HD for [amount]'
- You can now pay the remaining amount directly with Pathé Thuis credit, iDEAL, credit card or PayPal
After payment, you have the option to watch the film right away via 'Watch now'. Do you want to save the film for later? Then choose 'Watch later'. The film will be in your account for 30 days. After starting, you have 48 hours to watch the film.
