Is my internet connection stable enough?

Last updated on 17 March 2025

Below you can see the recommended download speed per stream for playing films via Pathé Thuis.

4.0 megabit per second – recommended for SD quality

8.0 megabit per second – recommended for HD quality

Check your connection speed
Above you can see the recommended speed for watching a film via Pathé Thuis. You can test your internet speed via the following Speedtest:
http://www.speedtest.net/

Press ‘Go’ on the page and the program will then start calculating your download speed and upload speed. Is the download speed higher than the above standard and are you having problems watching? We are happy to help you via our customer service.

Solving internet problems
If you experience buffers or interruptions while playing your films, we recommend the following:

1. Check whether other devices that also use the same WiFi network are turned off
2. Use a LAN cable. Connect your device to the router or modem via a network cable (LAN) if possible. 3. If you have performed the above step, check whether the network settings of your TV have also been changed to a wired network instead of Wi-Fi.

Another piece of advice is:

1. Disconnect your modem or router from the power for 15 seconds. Then turn the modem or router back on.
2. Check whether there is a general fault with your internet provider
3. Check whether there is a fault in the area
4. Connect the device directly to the modem, without the intervention of an external router
5. We advise you to always use the DNS server of your internet provider.
